Stephanie Soo vs Nikocado Avocado: Manipulation Allegations and Video Responses

The conflict emerged after collaborative filming involving Stephanie Soo, Nikocado Avocado, and Zach Choi in December 2019. Soo alleged that Nikocado tried to pressure her into publicly discussing her conflict with Veronica Wang, continued pushing the subject after she expressed discomfort, used public hints and messages after she canceled another collaboration, and photographed areas of her home without clearly established permission. Nikocado disputed key parts of Soo's interpretation, accused her of removing context, and presented messages and photographs to support his version. Soo then released a detailed rebuttal to his response. In 2021, Nikocado told MEL Magazine that the feud had been orchestrated to benefit both of their careers. In a new 2025 video, however, he described the situation differently: he acknowledged that his pressure, angry messages, and behavior in Soo's home were wrong and apologized, while also accusing Soo of intentionally dramatizing and exaggerating the situation. These later statements by Nikocado create a significant unresolved contradiction.

Stephanie Soo published 'Why I Am Scared Of Nikocado Avocado'

Soo alleged that Nikocado had manipulated and pressured her in the days surrounding their collaborations. According to Soo, he attempted to use their friendship and earlier private conversations to push her into discussing Veronica Wang on camera, continued applying pressure after she expressed discomfort, and later used social media and mutual acquaintances for public hints and ridicule after she canceled another planned collaboration. Soo also said that footage from her home security system showed Nikocado photographing parts of her home while she was outside the room, and she connected her feeling of being unsafe to earlier trauma. These were Soo's allegations and descriptions of her own experience and did not by themselves establish Nikocado's intent.

Nikocado Avocado released a multi-hour response to Stephanie Soo

In 'My response to Stephanie Soo....', Nikocado disputed Soo's account. He argued that Soo knew he had taken photographs inside her home, had shown him parts of the property, and had discussed the interior with him. He also argued that messages and the history of planning the collaboration showed that Soo had previously been more willing to discuss Veronica Wang than her video suggested. He claimed that Soo exaggerated how strongly she had demonstrated discomfort and presented private messages with Zach Choi as evidence for his version. Nikocado did not deny taking photographs inside Soo's home. The dispute concerned consent, context, and the interpretation of his actions.

Stephanie Soo responded with 'How Nikocado Manipulated All Of Us'

Soo addressed Nikocado's response point by point and presented additional messages and video excerpts. She argued that the material he showed did not establish that she had agreed to discuss Veronica Wang during the specific filming session, disputed his characterization of her behavior as ghosting, cited his earlier positive statements about her, and returned to the issue of photographs taken inside her home. Soo alleged that Nikocado continued photographing the interior and her security system screen after she had left the room. She stated that this would be her final response and that she intended to move on.

Nikocado told MEL Magazine that the feud had been orchestrated for career benefit

In an interview with MEL Magazine, Nicholas Perry said that his YouTube persona was largely performative and claimed that the conflict with Stephanie Soo had been orchestrated in a way that benefited both of their careers. He said that both creators understood that the situation would increase their visibility and described it as an opportunity to strengthen his public villain persona. MEL reported that it sought comment from Soo but did not receive a response. This claim came from Perry and was not publicly confirmed by Soo. It is also difficult to reconcile with his later 2025 account, in which he described Soo's video as an independent and deliberate attack rather than a mutually coordinated campaign.

Nikocado revisited the conflict and partially apologized to Stephanie Soo

In 'Exposing What Really Happened with Stephanie Soo', Nikocado returned to the dispute more than five years later. He acknowledged that he had wanted to involve Soo in gossip about Veronica Wang, reacted badly when she canceled a collaboration, sent angry messages, publicly expressed frustration, and failed to respect her boundaries sufficiently. He described these actions as mistakes and apologized. He separately acknowledged that continuing to photograph parts of Soo's home after she left the room had been overly presumptuous and wrong. At the same time, he accused Soo of intentionally constructing an emotionally heightened and misleading narrative, using editing and presentation to connect their dispute with more serious implications, exaggerating the context of the photographs, and presenting ordinary moments from ASMR filming as evidence of coercion. These accusations represent Nikocado's later interpretation and are not independently established facts.

Just Trish compared Nikocado's new video with his 2021 statement

A Just Trish episode revisited the original conflict and highlighted Nikocado's 2021 MEL Magazine interview, in which he had claimed that the feud was planned for mutual career benefit. The discussion questioned how that statement could be reconciled with his later demand that Soo acknowledge responsibility for allegedly manipulating the story. This was third-party commentary and did not provide new direct evidence about the events of 2019.
